Ryan Hawkins posted a program-high in points as Northwest Missouri State University knocked off No. 9 Southern Nazarene 100-88 to stay perfect during the opening weekend of the men's basketball season.
Hawkins dropped 44 points on 15-22 shooting from the field and 8-11 from three-point range. The junior from Atlantic, Iowa scored 29 of those points in the second half where he was a perfect 6-6 on three-point attempts.

Trevor Hudgins quietly finished with 19 points and nine assists in the win.

Northwest returns to action Friday, November 8 in the Hillyard Tip-Off Classic from the Civic Arena in St. Joseph. Pregame begins at 3pm, followed by the game against Minnesota Crookston at 3:30pm.
